X-IvAp

X-IvAp is an X-Plane plugin, originally created for the global online flight simulation network of IVAO. It allows X-Plane users to fly online with other flight simmers and real live air traffic control, provided by real people. X-IvAp follows the philosophy and design of the IVAO client IvAp for MSFS, and implements all its vital features - like full integration into the aircraft panel (you don't have to use the plugins user interface), improved IVAO weather system, flight plan changes done by ATC and many more.

I just started to play around with Dolomynum source code, take a look at QuteScoop.

Maintainer wanted I don't have the ressources to maintain X-IvAp myself any more, and just leaving the code there to rot would be a real shame. If you're interested in X-IvAp and know a bit of coding, please contact me. --Martin 00:12, 4 May 2008 (CEST)

Since version 0.1.7, X-IvAp is available under the GPL.

Feel free to contribute your own ideas, extensions and proposals. Everybody is encouraged to submit own bugfixes and patches. If you want to submit more than just one patch, you could ask for a SVN account to commit directly to the repository. If you are a developer, make sure to subscribe to the X-IvAp mailing list!

Don't hesitate to change this wiki content if you know how to improve it.

Documentation

For now there are several documents describing more or less details of X-IvAp. A "real" manual isn't available yet.

Please note that the GPL version of X-IvAp will, at this time, not work on the IVAO network.

If you never worked with revision control tools (like SVN, CVS, SourceSafe) before, you really should check out the subversion book - you won't regret it!

Credits

X-IvAp is using Ben Supniks multiplayer code, libXplaneMP for XSquawkbox, and would have been impossible to implement without his invaluable help. My personal thanks also go to Peter Meininger for providing the CSL models for XSquawkbox and X-IvAp, to Sandy Barbour for the excellent X-Plane SDK, Patrick Zangerle for the artwork, Mikkel G. Hangaard and Splendor Bouman for the first beta tests (and for hooking me to X-Plane), the people from the IVAO networking and softdev departements as well as many many other nameless people who helped with the creation of this plugin.
